∼∼∼ A walk around the lake ∼∼∼

Heute dürft ihr mich ein Stück auf einer kleinen Runde um den See begleiten. Von zu Hause aus einmal rund um den See und zurück sind es knapp 10 km – gerade so viel, dass der Hund anfängt leichte Ermüdungserscheinungen zu zeigen 😉
Dieses Mal nahm ich wieder meine Infrarotkamera – eine auf 700nm umgebaute Canon 50D mit dem Burnside 35.
Eigentlich wollte ich das Sol 45 mitnehmen, aber dafür war einfach zu viel Licht vorhanden. Ich muss mal schauen, ob man auf das Sol 45 einen ND-Filter setzen kann und ob das dann mit Infrarot funktioniert.
Habt ihr schon mal ND-Filter mit Lensbabys ausprobiert? Oder gibt es eine andere Möglichkeit um mit offener Blende bei starkem Licht zu fotografieren?
Today you may accompany me a little on a small round around the lake nearby where I live. From home once around the lake and back here are about 10 km – just enough that the dog begins to show slight signs of fatigue 😉
This time I took my infrared camera – a converted Canon 50D / IR-Filter 700nm with the Burnside 35.
Actually, I wanted to take the Lensbaby Sol 45, but it was too bright outside. I will see if I can use an ND filter on the Sol 45 and if that comes together with infrared.

Did anybody try ND-Filter with Lensbabys? Or is there another option to take photos with the aperture wide open?

These are very unique images Birgit. And by unique I mean they are great. I’ve never tried infrared photography, but I did use an ND-filter with some of the Lensbaby lenses. They helped a bit, but I felt that they worked different on the LB lenses than on the other ones. Good luck trying it out!
Thanks for you comment Gizella! Sorry for the late answer, I still have to try with ND. I had one Cokin added to a lens – think this was the Sweet 35. So I need some time now 😉 Which is all the time the problem with photography.

These are wonderful Birgit! I love them all but especially the one with the boat bridge. Have you heard of Richard Mosse? He shot some war photos that have a similar look.
Thanks a lot, Janet! I did not know Richard Mosse, but I had a short look at his pictures. Yes, you are right – the colors and the peculiarity of infrared makes them look similar, even if it is a different subject. I am still learning with this infrared – especially the development of the RAWs is very different.

schön, dass du fitter bist als der Hund…;-)……….mit Lensbaby habe ich leider gar keine Erfahrung, umso mehr habe ich mich gefreut, euch auf der Runde zu begleiten…
Freut mich Wolfgang – was den Hund angeht… der könnte den Weg vermutlich auch im Renntempo schaffen, dann wäre er hinterher vermutlich irgendwas, was wir leicht müde nennen würden. Leichte Ermüdungserscheinungen ist für uns eher die Tatsache, dass er seine ersten Kräfte ausgepowert hat und nun entspannt mit mir läuft 😉 Der Energielevel beim Start ist halt höher als man normal erwarten würde 😉
Lensbaby ist für mich malen mit Pixeln, jetzt im Sommer – vor allem mit IR ist es das Problem des Lichts, und dass man so weit abblenden muss, dass man den eigentlichen Charme der Linsen nicht mehr erkennt. IR mit ND-Filter um eine weitere Blendenöffnung zu erzielen ist nicht möglich „sagt man“. Was „man sagt“ muss ich also erst mal ausprobieren. Den vieles was dieser „man“ sagt ist relativ und manchmal funktioniert es doch. Also „Nicht glauben – ausprobieren“!
